AND CONSIDER FOR POSSIBLE ACTION ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION A 4.017 C OF THE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE TO INCREASE THE DEPOSIT FEE FOR FIRE HYDRANT WATER METERS WITH BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICE FROM 1500 TO $5,000.AND THIS IS ORDINANCE NUMBER 1266.
WE ARE WANTING TO INCREASE THE PRICE DUE TO, UM, HAVING A FEW OUTSTANDING BILLS FOR FIRE HYDRANT METERS.
UM, THEY CAN USE A LOT OF WATER VERY QUICKLY WHEN IT COMES TO THE FIRE HYDRANTS.
UM, SO I THINK IT'S BEST THAT WE JUST POSSIBLY INCREASE THAT DEPOSIT.

IT WAS OVER 6,000, BUT THEY DID PAY.
SO THAT'S WHY WE WERE CONSIDERING THAT CHANGE.

AND WE DISCOVERED THAT THERE'S A UNIQUE THING ABOUT THE CITY OF PALMER THAT IS REALLY SPECIAL.
AND THAT IS THERE IS ABOUT A HANDFUL OF LANDOWNERS THAT OWN A LARGE PORTION OF THE PROPERTY AROUND PALMER.
AND SO THERE'S NOT A LOT OF SELLERS, AND THIS IS LEGACY PROPERTY, AND IT'S, AND IT'S IMPORTANT TO THESE FAMILIES.
AND SO IT'S NOT SOMETHING THAT THEY'RE GONNA LET GO OF QUICKLY.
THE OTHER DYNAMIC THAT WE FOUND IN TEXAS WAS THE ROCKET WATER HISTORY AND THE WATER CONCERN.

THAT IS IMPORTANT FOR US TO BE ABLE TO BRING THIS INFRASTRUCTURE IN TO THIS AREA.
I WANT TO PAUSE FOR A MOMENT HERE AND JUST KIND OF SAY SOMETHING THAT, I USED TO BE THE COUNTY JUDGE HERE.
I I WEAR THAT GOVERNMENTAL HAT SOMETIMES, RIGHT? BUT IT'S UNIQUE THAT A CITY CAN'T GROW BY ITSELF.
IT REQUIRES A DEVELOPER AND DON'T EVER LEAVE CITY GROWTH UP TO A DEVELOPER
SO TOGETHER, YOU KNOW, YOU REALLY WORK TOGETHER TO BE ABLE TO GROW THE CITY.
THIS INFRASTRUCTURE IS REALLY, REALLY IMPORTANT FOR THE FUTURE GROWTH.
THE FARSIGHTEDNESS THAT EVERYBODY HAS HERE IN THIS ROOM.
YOU'RE NOT ONLY THINKING THREE YEARS, FIVE YEARS, BUT YOU'RE ACTUALLY THINKING 20 YEARS AHEAD BY BEING ABLE TO LAY A 12 INCH LINE LINE THIS FAR SOUTH IN THE AREA, GIVEN THE CONSTRAINTS AS REGARDING LAND OWNERSHIP AND WATER RIGHTS.
THIS IS THE CONCEPT LAYOUT THAT WE'RE PRESENTING WHO WE ARE.
WE ACTUALLY DO QUITE A FEW LARGE LAW DEVELOPMENTS.

AND WE REALLY BELIEVE THAT THAT PALMER IS THE, THE STAGE OF SET FOR THIS AS LONG AS THERE'S INFRASTRUCTURE.
AND THE REASON WHY IS BECAUSE YOUR SCHOOLS ARE GOOD.
WE'VE ACTUALLY HAD HOME BUILDERS COME TO US AND SAY, HEY CHAD, OKAY, YOU DO A DEVELOPMENT INSIDE OF PALMER.
'CAUSE WE WANT THAT SCHOOL DISTRICT, YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICTS DRIVE DEVELOPMENT FOR US.
WE ALSO AS
EVERY ONE OF OUR DEVELOPMENTS THAT COME IN, IT'S ALWAYS MOVING THAT BAR UP TO SEATTLE HIGH.
WE CAN DRIVE THE MARKET UP WHEN IT COMES TO HOUSING.

OVERALL, WE EXPECT THE DEVELOPMENT TO BRING ABOUT A HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS OF TAXABLE, UH, PROPERTY INSIDE OF, IT'S A LONG TERM TAX BASE.

UM, IF THAT IS, UH, RENDERING, WE'RE GONNA TRY TO GO OUT FOR THE JAKE LZ GRANT.
WE'RE GONNA BE PARTNERING WITH THE SCHOOL AS WELL AS THE MDD TO TRY TO GET THAT.
UM, THE OTHER THING THAT WE HAVE IS THE CITYWIDE CLEANUP IS COMING UP APRIL 24TH AND THE 25TH.
UM, THAT WILL BE TO HELP CITIZENS GET SOME OF THE THINGS CLEANED UP, ESPECIALLY WITH OUR LOCAL CO CODE ENFORCEMENT INITIATIVES.
